Powell River, BC – October 13, 2012 – Townsite Brewing is very pleased to announce the arrival of twins! The fledgling Sunshine Coast brewery took home two golds at the 2012 BC Beer Awards for their Pow Town Porter (in the Porter/Browns category) and Blackberry FestivAle (in the Fruit category). The event – put on by The BC Beer Awards, BC Craft Beer Month, and CAMRA BC – pitted 212 of BC’s finest brews against each other in 14 categories.
“A proud moment indeed shared with part of Team Townsite Chloe and Steve. We definitely were the loudest winners in the room!” said Michelle Zutz, Director of Sales for Townsite who was on hand at the ceremony at Chapel Arts in Vancouver.
One of the newest breweries to join the BC craft beer scene, Townsite’s first kegs were officially tapped March 24, 2012 and in just 7 months, their Brewer Engineer Cedric Dauchot has released 3 seasonal brews and a one-off Belgian triple in addition to four year-round brews: Zunga Golden Blonde Ale, Tin Hat IPA, Suncoast Pale Ale, and the award-winning Pow Town Porter. Cedric has two more seasonal brews in the offing for the winter: a Belgian IPA called Shiny Penny, and a yet-to-be-named Christmas beer.
